The season is over and nobody can remember
Where did she place at Districts two years ago? How many points does he need in Weapons to stay in the top ten? Which tournaments has this family actually paid for?
Most of it lives on paper score sheets that go through the wash, in a spreadsheet somebody stopped updating in November, and in four different parents' camera rolls. MatRecord puts a season in one place and does the arithmetic for you.

Judges' scores go in as they are called. Totals and places recalculate as you type, so the sheet is always current rather than something you add up at the end.

Already set up for ATA
Divisions, events, belts, weapons, the points engine and every territory a standing is held in are in the app before you type anything. Change any of it if your organization does it differently.
Competing under a different organization
ATA Martial Arts is the one organization MatRecord arrives already configured for. Setups for others are planned for future updates.
In the meantime, any organization that runs tournaments in a similar way can be set up by hand. In Settings you define your own divisions, belt or rank order, events, weapons, age groups, and the rules the points follow. Nothing in the app is locked to ATA. That covers most competitive circuits, for example AAU Taekwondo, USA Taekwondo, ITF Taekwon-Do, open sport karate circuits such as NASKA, the NBL and WKC, USA Karate, and independent school or regional circuits that keep their own standings.
A setup you build is yours to pass around. Export it and send it to anyone else competing under the same organization, and they can import it instead of typing it in again. One person can set it up once for a whole school or a whole region.

Enter a tournament once, not once per child. Track points the way your organization does. Forecast the full season's point possibilities.
Live scoring at the ring
Judges' scores, drop high and low, tie-breaks, and a Place column that recalculates as you type. Review everything before it is committed, and un-commit if it was wrong.
Brackets
Sparring and combat brackets with byes handled properly. Follow one competitor through a bracket, or record every bout. Both are valid.
Photos and video
Film a form at 1080p, tag it with the competitor and the event, and find it again by either. Saved into their own album on your phone.Installed app

Keep state, world and team standings alongside your own records, with ranking links that jump straight to the right division.
Share with a coach, family, friends, or teammates
Send exactly what you choose: one team, one season, one competitor. Imports show what changed, let you resolve conflicts side by side, and can be undone.
A record that outlasts the season
Every medal across every season, split by gold, silver and bronze, with championship titles kept alongside them. Seasons that happened before you started using the app can be entered as totals, so the career record is complete rather than starting the day you downloaded it.

Score a ring as it happens
Judges by name and rank, each score entered on a number pad built for standing up, and totals and places that recalculate as you type. Drop the highest and lowest where your organization does. Ties raise a tie-break rather than being guessed at.

Brackets that handle byes properly
Give it the number competing and it builds the whole ladder: every round, every match, byes placed in seeded order. Winners advance on their own, so a competitor moves through the bracket whether or not anybody has typed their name yet.

Your child's name and face stay on your phone
There is no account to create and nothing to log in to. Your records are written on the device you entered them on and they stay there. Nothing goes anywhere unless you choose to send it, and we do not run analytics, advertising, tracking or crash reporting.
That is not a setting you have to find and switch on. It is how the app is built, which is also why it works with no signal at all, standing in a gym with four hundred people and no bars.

At the ring on your phone, at home on your computer
Scoring a ring works on a phone. Entering a whole season's results does not. That is a job for a keyboard and a big screen.
Everyone who buys MatRecord gets access to the desktop companion: the same app, in your computer's browser, for the entry and review work that is miserable on a small screen. Move a season between the two with the same export and import you would use to send results to a coach.

One purchase
MatRecord is a one-time purchase. What you buy is yours: no subscription to keep it working, no in-app purchases, no adverts, and no upsell six months in when you have a season's work inside it.
If a subscription option ever arrives, offering automatic sharing, online storage and backups, or features beyond what is here, it will be a choice on top of this one. None of the functionality you bought is taken away, and the app keeps working without it.
iPhone and iPad support is planned.
