Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of MatRecord, an application published by Cytormocle, LLC ("we", "us"). By installing or using MatRecord you agree to them. If you do not agree, don't use the app.
1. What MatRecord is
MatRecord is a tool for recording martial arts tournament results, points, rankings, score sheets and related information. It runs on your device and stores what you enter on that device.
It is a record-keeping tool, not an authority. Points totals, standings, division codes and forecasts are calculations based on settings and data you control. They are not official results and carry no weight with any organization.
2. Not affiliated with any organization
MatRecord is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to ATA Martial Arts or any other martial arts organization, federation or governing body. Any organization name, division format or rule set appearing in the app is there so the app can be configured to match how you compete, not as a claim of association.
Always confirm standings, rules, eligibility and anything else that matters with your organization directly.
3. Your license
When you buy MatRecord we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use it on devices you own or control, for your own use and that of your immediate family or household.
You may not resell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app; remove or obscure any notices in it; or use it to build a competing product.
A personal license does not stretch to a school's instructors and students. If you run a school, club or organization and want to cover yours, get in touch and we will work out an arrangement that suits how you run it.
4. The desktop companion
Purchasers are given access to a browser-based version of MatRecord for use on a computer. Access credentials are provided inside the app.
That access is part of your license and is for your own use. Please don't publish the address or credentials, or pass them to people who haven't bought the app. We may change the address or credentials at any time, and we may withdraw access if they are shared publicly.
The desktop companion is offered as a convenience. It is not guaranteed to be available continuously, and some features, such as saving media to your device's gallery, reminders, and downloading an event list, work only in the installed app.
5. Purchases and refunds
MatRecord is sold through app stores. Your purchase is a transaction with that store, and refunds are handled under that store's refund policy, not by us. For Google Play, refunds are requested through Google Play.
MatRecord is a one-time purchase. If that ever changes, existing purchases are not converted into subscriptions.
6. Your data is yours, and it is your responsibility
Everything you enter stays on your device. We do not receive it, hold it, or have any way to recover it. See the privacy policy for the detail.
This means two things you should take seriously:
- Keep your own backups. Use the export function regularly. If your device is lost, damaged, reset, or has its storage cleared, and you have no exported file, your records cannot be recovered, by you or by us.
- You are responsible for what you record. If you store information about children who are not your own, such as names, ages, photographs or video, obtaining whatever consent your jurisdiction requires from their parents or guardians is your responsibility, not ours.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use MatRecord to break the law, to store or distribute material you have no right to, to harass anyone, or to record people who have not consented to being recorded where consent is required.
You are responsible for any logo, photograph or other content you add to the app, including having the right to use it.
8. Availability and changes
We may update MatRecord, change or remove features, or stop publishing it. Where a change would meaningfully alter how your information is handled, the privacy policy will be updated first and the change made clear in the app before it takes effect.
Because the app runs on your device and stores data there, an app that stops being updated keeps working with the data you already have.
9. No warranty
MatRecord is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any calculation, standing, ranking or forecast it produces is accurate or matches what your organization records. Verify anything that matters.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cytormocle, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, loss of records, or loss of profits, arising out of or relating to your use of MatRecord, including where records are lost because no backup existed.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to MatRecord will not exceed the amount you paid for it.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.
11. Ending the license
You can stop using MatRecord at any time by deleting it. Your license ends if you breach these terms, in which case you should stop using the app and delete it. Sections 6, 9, 10 and 12 survive the license ending.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to MatRecord or these terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Douglas County, Kansas, and you and we consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Nothing here removes any right you have under the mandatory consumer protection law of the place where you live.
13. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The date at the top shows when they were last changed, and material changes will be noted in the app or on this site. Continuing to use MatRecord after a revision means you accept it.
